Pinellas County Cultural Affairs

Promoting arts and culture in Pinellas County

The Pinellas County Cultural Affairs Department develops local cultural and artistic resources and serves as an advocate for the arts. Through support services, grants, arts education, advocacy, and information and referral programs, Cultural Affairs is both partner and catalyst in supporting current--and developing new--cultural opportunities in Pinellas County. A department of Pinellas County's Culture, Education and Leisure division, Cultural Affairs works to ensure that arts and culture are an integral part of Pinellas County's planning and vision, while heightening awareness of the civic value of culture in such arenas as arts education, economic vitality, and cultural tourism.

The Pinellas County Cultural Affairs Department:

  • Enhances the quality of life for Pinellas County residents and visitors through a public art and design program that enriches public spaces.
  • Ensures adequate funding for cultural organizations in Pinellas County.
  • Fosters communication and community leadership in the arts and ensures effective arts advocacy.
  • Promotes and supports arts education for young people as a core educational concept and makes arts education accessible to all citizens regardless of age, economic level, ethnic background, or abilities.
  • Supports local artists, cultural groups and institutions to increase their effectiveness and help them achieve their professional goals.
